Since
its inception in 1994, COMPASS could attain :
Organizing the biggest
yearly IT exhibition "COMPASS" in Eastern
India.
Negotiated successfully
with Government Authorities with respect to Sales
Tax, Excise, Customs for the benefit of the members
and consumers. COMPASS
was instrumental in bringing down Sales Tax from 13.8
to 4%.

Launched
Website at
www.compassindia.com in September 2000.
Bringing
out out IT Directory of Eastern India in Print and Electronic
Media.
Negotiating with Govt
of West Bengal for a space where India's largest IT
Plaza with all commercial and entertainment facilities
will be made available.
Incorporated a Cell
to redress the grievances of members and consumers.
Releasing Members' Directory
on yearly basis since 1995.
Compass has been playing
pro-active ole in stemming the software piracy in Eastern
India in close association with NASSCOM.
Publishing Bi-monthly
news magazine named COMPAPER in print media and circulating
the same to the fellow members and associates. This is
yet another achievement where members too can write any
topic of concerned interest and find means to advertise
their products through Ad banner in the news magazine.
Developed fellowship
amongst the members and their families through annual
picnics and social functions.
A
new office space was acquired at 37, Shakespeare
Sarani, Kolkata - 700017, in 2001. The space
has been converted into a cozy office with a
nice front office, work desks, President's and
Office bearers' chambers and a banquet on the
upper floor which can accommodate about 30 members
for any meeting and seminar.

Mr.
MN Ray, IAS - Commissioner of Taxes, Govt of
West Bengal, inaugurated the new office premises
on 15th May, 2002, in presence of COMPASS members,
distinguished guests, media personnel and members
of other trading associations.

Social
Commitments
- Compass
donated Rs. 200,000 for the relief of he victims of
devastating earthquake that rocked Gujrat during early
2001.
- Collected
& donated Funds for Kargil War victims.

A
training Center has been launched in association
with Ankur, a Division of Nehru Children Museum,
on 09th September, 2000 where the socially under
privileged and economically backwards are imparted
with computer training. Here in picture Mr.

Another
Training Center has started functioning from
25th November, 2001 under sponsorship of COMPASS
in Amragori, Howrah, where the poor students
are imparted with IT training, The training
center is organized in association with Amgragori
Yuba Sangha, Amragori, Howrah. Here in the picture
