Executive Committee meetings were conducted during
the year. Besides this several review meetings were
held as and when required.
Membership
COMPASS
has always taken a cautious approach in inducting
new members. This year 6 Life, 2 annual members were
enrolled into our association and 3Annual Members
upgraded their membership to Life Membership. New
practice of sending welcome kits containing Membership
Certificate, Members Directory, IT Directory and other
necessary information material was started this year.
We thank Mr. Sanjay Chordia and Mr. Milon Chakraborty,
Chairman Membership drive.
Social
Activities
Your Association continues to contribute to the society
by supporting and enhancing infrastructure of the
computer centers Ankur in Jadavpur and Amraguri Yuba
Sangha in Howrah.Our thanks to Mr. Arun Jalan, Chairman
Social Activities for his support.
Fellowship
Immediately upon assuming office, our President Mr.V.K
Bhandari took upon himself the responsibility of restoring
the camaraderie amongst members. He hosted a party
for all past Executive Committee members wherein approx
60 members along with their spouses were present.
Senior members were honoured.
A
new and highly appreciated initiative of sending Birthday
cards to members and their spouses and flower bouquets
on members’ marriage anniversary was started.
Other events organized were:
(1)
Rajasthani cultural programme
(2) Diwali meet with a football of approx 225 and
where members’ spouses participated in Diya
Thali competition and kids
put on very energetic performance on the stage.
(3) Two movie shows - Mangal Pandey and Krish
(4) Winter picnic at Bowreah Jute Mill on the banks
of River Hooghly.
We
sincerely appreciate the hard work put in by Chairman
Fellowship Committee Mr. Rajen Keshan and Mr Nikhil
Bhagat.
A
compass Cricket Team was formed on the initiative
of Mr. Sunil Jhawar, Executive Committee Member and
we sincerely appreciate his initiative. In its very
first outing it gave a drubbing to established teams
by reaching semifinals of Space Circle Indoor Cricket
Tournament.
COMPASS
2005 - Exhibition
COMPASS
2005 was organized on a grand scale and attracted
100,000+ visitors from Eastern India.
Sri Buddhadev Bhattacharya, Chief Minister of West
Bengal, inaugurated the event. About 80 companies
/ organization participated in the exhibition. Participants’
meet and Awards Night were organized. Our sincere
appreciation goes to Mr. Pawan Jajadia and his entire
team for making COMPASS 2005 a grand success.
Seminar
and Training
Hugely
successful seminar on VAT and Anti-Virus and Security
Solutions were organized by Mr. Sundeep Tambi, Chairman
Seminar and Training.
Website
Our
official website
www.compassindia.com continues to attract our
members, principal companies and general public as
well. Visit /Traffic to website reached to about 5000
unique visitors per month. Online chat events were
organized. Members have been provided opportunity
to advertise on the website which was a success. Various
new sections like live news download links for various
utilities /software, mailer archives etc were added.
We sincerely appreciate the contribution made by Mr.
Manoj Jain, Chairman Website Committee.

Our
Members’Directory was published under the guidance
of Mr. Rajeev Poddar.
Grievance
Cell
Throughout
the year 9 issues were brought to the notice of Grievance
cell, and several of them were successfully sorted
by our Past President Mr. K L Lalani.
